Day 24 of Stay Warm and Write Month

Hi all – today’s tip comes from John Williams, author of Screw Work Let’s Play.

Capture every idea that occurs to you for your writing project, wherever and whenever that might be; on going to bed, on waking up in the middle of the night, on the train to work. Carry a notebook everywhere. Or go digital; I use the standard notes app on my iPhone synced automatically to my Mac and iPad so that I can add more ideas on any device and draw on them when I return to writing. There are some places you can’t use technology – so I have a waterproof notebook next to my shower for those Eureka moments!

By capturing every single idea like this, I find a lot of the raw content for the book almost writes itself.

John Williams’ first book, Screw Work Let’s Play (How to do what you love & get paid for it) was published by Pearson. Download a free chapter atwww.screwworkletsplay.com
