Short-story-competition

Well, this is your chance to shine because we’ve teamed up with Hush Homewear (because we think their clothes are perfect for writers who don’t want to get lounge)  to uncover a new Anton Chekhov, Katherine Mansfield or Jhumpa Lahiri.

For our inaugural short story competition, we are asking writers to send in stories of up to 2,000 words themed around the word ‘hush’.

The entries will be judged by a time of experts, including Editor of Short Fire Press Clare Hay and acclaimed short story writer Alison Macleod and the winner will receive a £500 hush voucher, a hush gift set and a year’s free membership to The London Writers’ Club.

The winners story, along with those of 11 other finalists, will also be published in a book which will be available to buy on hush’s website in time for Christmas, while an online/digital version of the winning entry will also be published by Short Fire Press.

Stories must be sent in the body of an email to info@londonwritersclub.com by 31st October. The winner and finalists will be announced at the end of November.
