Publish a free ebook as part of your author marketing strategy

At London Writers’ Club, we are always looking for new ways to get writing out there – in the public eye, so we were delighted when we heard of Bibliotastic. James Crawshaw, the director of Bibliotastic wrote the following blog for us:

Bibliotastic.com is a free ebook publishing platform for independent authors. It is entirely free for authors to publish their work and for readers to download the ebooks. Bibliotastic publishes the ebooks in PDF, EPUB, Kindle (PRC) and HTML formats. Publishing ebooks for free is a great way for authors to have their work read and get feedback from the public. Writers can continue to pursue book deals for their more current work while making freely available some of their back catalogue of rejected manuscripts. Another approach our authors take is to make the first in a series free while charging for sequels on sites such as Amazon or eBooks.com. But don’t just take our word for it; read the comments from some of our authors:
  • CL Sumruld: “After years of submissions to the Gods of the publishing world, whose rejections come after months of anxious hand wringing, to have one’s book available for public consumption and scrutiny this quickly, is remarkable”.
  • Chuck Sampson: “Whether or not a writer receives reviews may determine whether or not they continue writing. Even negative feedback is better than no feedback. At least it’s an opportunity to learn.”
If you would like to give it a try, please click on the ‘Publish your ebook!’ link at the top of the website. And feel free to email james.crawshaw@bibliotastic.com if you have any questions.

Bio:
James Crawshaw is a technology analyst by trade. His interest in ebooks led him to start building bibliotastic.com in 2010. “I had been a big fan of ereaders for some time and saw how the devices were going to become more and more popular. At the same time I knew that while people are happy to cough up for electronic gadgets they are often reluctant to pay for digital content, expecting apps and music to be free. The other side of the coin is the huge number of writers out there who have not yet been lucky enough to land a publishing deal. So I hit on the idea of a publishing platform for free ebooks where writers could get feedback on their work, raise awareness of their name, and have the satisfaction of having their work read.”
