The Casket of Fictional Delights is part of the Get Creative Festival a nationwide creative endeavour working with a number of organisations including the BBC and the Arts Council. The 2018 Flash Fiction Competition is an opportunity for any writer over 18 to have their work published and professionally recorded.
Flash Fiction offers writers the challenge of creating a masterpiece in miniature. It is enjoyable and addictive to both the reader and the creator. How do you go about creating the perfect flash fiction?
Our judge David Gaffney says
“I do not expect to understand it at first. I expect to be a little confused. I hope to be a little confused. I will expect to have to read it again, and maybe again after that. And the feeling I want to have after finishing it is a feeling that I have understood something I didn’t understand before but I still don’t really know what it is.”
We are looking for entries with a maximum of 300 words (excluding title).
