We are looking forward to our April event with Julia Eagleton of Janklow & Nesbit.
Julia Eagleton started her publishing career in New York and joined Janklow & Nesbit in 2020 on returning to her native city, London. She represents nonfiction, literary fiction, poetry, and illustrated books.
In nonfiction her taste is wide-ranging, including business, economics, politics and current affairs, history, psychology, memoir, and cultural criticism. She tends towards books that engage with big questions about our collective future (for example the environment, tech, healthcare, and social justice). Equally, she loves to work with creative nonfiction writers who blend poetry with essay or memoir.
In fiction she is most excited by writers who have a distinctive voice and fresh perspective. She is looking to champion international stories and her favourite novels often bring together the private and the public in order to critically examine the world right now. She is also drawn to narratives with a strong sense of atmosphere and that exist on the boundary between the real and magical. Some of her favourite novelists include Elif Shafak, Mohsin Hamid, and Olga Tokarczuk.
Join us on 20 April to hear more from Julia and find out what’s on her wish list.
