July’s speaker announced: Gaia Banks of Sheil Land Associates Ltd.

We are delighted to be announcing July’s speaker: Gaia Banks of Sheil Land Associates.

Gaia Banks:

I’ve worked in publishing for 20 years: in translation rights at John Murray, then joining Sheil Land as an agent in 2004. I look after the translation interests of Sheil Land Associates’ extensive and varied list of authors, and also act as a primary agent. I take on one or two new writers a year as a primary agent, and when doing so look for projects with wide international appeal.

I represent writing across the spectrum of fiction and non-fiction: at the moment I’m particularity interested in fiction and memoir which will ignite reading group discussions, and I’ll always have a soft spot for a good romance.

Bestsellers during 2020 include The Library at the Edge of the World by Felicity Hayes-McCoy (USA Today), The Missing Pieces of Nancy Moon by Sarah Steele (USA Today), Sisters by Michelle Frances (UK Kindle and Apple), The Girlfriend by Michelle Frances (US Kindle and Apple) and The Chalet by Catherine Cooper (Sunday Times). Bestsellers in 2021 include The Appeal by Janice Hallett (Nielsen top 50.)
