Eavesdrop says our Short-story comp joint winner.

I listen to peoples’ conversations. I ferry my children around to various activities and spend a lot of time nursing a cold cup of coffee and listening to people. It’s amazing what they talk about.
I once sat behind two old ladies on a bus who were discussing coffins and cleaning supplies. Turned out they’d been watching ‘I’m a celebrity’, but it took a while to make the connection. I read obituaries, obsessively. I always have a notebook with me. I buy a lot of notebooks…
Jo Tiddy was co-winner of the Hush/ LWC short story competition with her story LULLABY. London Writers’ Club has since been contacted by a literary agent wanting to get in touch with Jo so it just goes to show that these comps do help! Good luck Jo!
